From her expertise in what resonates with employers and executives, and from her understanding of what works to make that work successfully, I – Sophie Looijestijn – asked her for my podcast.
According to Annejet, what are the ingredients for being an irresistible employer?
(Everything Annejet says about this, and more, can be checked out in her book! The order link can be found at the bottom of this text).
- That the employee’s basic needs are met: autonomy, competence and connectedness. When those three are in order, you get inspired employees.
- That it is clear what to expect from each other: what are the roles, responsibilities, authority?
- That there is trust. “Confidence comes to good and goes viral.” If you don’t do well as an employer, you will be roasted online. You don’t want that!
- That you are consistent as a leader. “You can’t be pouty and very friendly one day and walk around the office like some kind of bully screaming the next day.”
